Oracle planning to expand cloud business in India


Oracle India is all set to ramp up its cloud business with the help of a dedicated sales force that will sell Oracle Cloud solutions. The company has revealed its plan of hiring 200 sales professionals to accelerate the business of the company. Oracle cloud is designed to deliver industry’s broadest suite of enterprise-grade public cloud services, including data as a service (DaaS), software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) so that customers can tackle cloud adoption head on.

Speaking about the expansion plans, Shailender Kumar, Managing Director, Oracle India, said, “As part of our commitment to provide the most innovative technologies and expert customer support, we are building a dedicated team of sales personnel and domain experts to service the vast opportunity for cloud in India. With our unmatched cloud portfolio comprising Daas, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, we are uniquely positioned to cater to customers in the private and public sectors. Oracle is at the helm of this transformation and we are bullish about this business in India.”

With its plans of expansion the company aims to become the number 1 cloud provider in the company. As per this plan, the firm will also be expanding its cloud sales organization to include more specialized sales, business development, and post-sales support executives. Hiring will take place across Oracle’s nine sales offices throughout India.

Oracle provides cloud service across human capital management (HCM), sales automation (CRM), ERP, marketing, analytics, database, and Java, among many other technology areas. Many reputed organizations like Apollo Hospitals, Bharti Learning, HDFC Bank, Maruti Motors, Hero MotoCorp are deploying various Oracle Cloud solutions in a hybrid model.

The company believes that cloud is gaining rapid acceptance in the country and during this time Oracle will also witness a strong demand for its solutions.
