Phoenix Contact’s CCS Charging Inlets for EVs

Phoenix Contact has released universal Charx connect vehicle charging inlets that enable the AC and DC charging of all types of electric vehicles – from low charging power right through to High Power Charging (HPC) with up to 500 kW.

Phoenix contact The CCS charging inlets provide retrofitters and manufacturers of electric and hybrid cars, motorcycles, utility, special-purpose, and recreational vehicles with a high-performance, universal High Power Charging interface that has been tested under automotive standards and drastically shortens charging times.

This is particularly important in commercial applications because economical use can only be achieved through good utilization of the vehicles. Due to the cable cross-sections of up to 95 mm², the CCS charging inlets can provide a continuous charging power of 250 kW and even up to 500 kW temporarily.

The vehicle charging inlets have been developed for leading automobile manufacturers and are already being used in the new generations of electric cars. They impress with their precise temperature sensor technology, increased IP protection classes, optimized connection technology, and simple design-in thanks to uniform dimensions and geometries.

In addition to the inlets for fast charging under the American CCS type 1 standard, European CCS type 2 standard, and Chinese GB/T standard, AC inlets for all three charging standards are also available for the first time.

Therefore, providing a comprehensive product portfolio for all regions, performance classes, and applications.
