The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recently released its Telecom Subscription Data for May and has revealed that Reliance Jio has outpaced Bharti Airtel and has become the second-largest operator in the country, in terms of the subscribers in May. The Mukesh Ambani- led Jio has disrupted the telecom industry with its cheap pricing for its plans and to date, the prepaid plans have remained unchanged. It seems that the extremely low pricing of its plans which none of its competitors can match has helped it gain consistently despite the telecom sector witnessing a drop in wireless connections, said a news report.
In its financial result for the quarter ended June 30, 2019, Reliance Jio reported a net profit of Rs 891 crore. Reliance Jio also said that its much-hyped fiber-to-the-home services are in its final stage and the initial signs have been encouraging.
