Rohde & Schwarz has recently started providing communications equipment for mobile air traffic control (ATC) towers that was delivered to a customer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Having already supplied a UAE customer with radios in the past, Rohde & Schwarz has been chosen again, as the company provided the best solution for the customer.
“We selected Rohde & Schwarz due to the company’s capacity and cost-effectiveness. We are very happy with the design, implementation and delivery of the project,” said the UAE customer.
“We have a long and successful history of supplying our communications equipment for mobile ATC towers,” said Patrick Brodda, Managing Director Rohde & Schwarz Emirates. “This additional order confirms our successful collaboration with the UAE customer, reaffirming our long-term commitment to our customer.”
Each mobile ATC tower consists of a cabin equipped with consoles, all installed on a lifting system fixed on a trailer that is fitted to be transportable by a C17 transport aircraft.
Each cabin has been designed to accommodate three controller working positions, equipped with R&S Series4200 software-defined radios, CERTIUM VCS voice communications system, CERTIUM Management and CERTIUM Gateways.
The R&S Series4200 has been proven in the field with over 30,000 radios deployed around the world. The software-defined architecture makes the latest release of the radio compliant with the latest ED-137C standard and a reliable solution for years to come. CERTIUM VCS is a quad-redundant, IP-based voice communications system that perfectly integrates with the entire CERTIUM portfolio to ensure safe, secure and efficient airspace operations.
As a turnkey supplier for secure aerospace communications solutions, Rohde & Schwarz brings decades of experience and is a trusted partner.
