Rohde & Schwarz Systems Design in Australia’s ATC Network
Rohde & Schwarz Australia, along with L3Harris, has declared to provide system design services for the integration of the latest generation of voice-over-IP VHF air traffic control (ATC) radios, the R&S Series5200, for Airservices Australia’s ATC network.
“The R&S Series5200 provides excellent RF performance and IP-based architecture for today and tomorrow’s ATC communications, for both VHF and UHF frequency bands,” said Marius Münstermann, Vice President Market Segment ATC at Rohde & Schwarz. “The innovative security-by-design architecture will enable a seamless transition to new IP networks.”

Rohde & Schwarz Australia is undertaking the initial planning and design phase for the modernization of the VHF network with its latest remote control and monitoring system. It will also plan for a radio frequency interference monitoring and investigation capability.
