Rohde & Schwarz Unveils Advanced EMC Testing Solutions at EMV 2025

Rohde & Schwarz is set to present a comprehensive suite of EMC and field strength test equipment at the EMV show 2025 in Stuttgart from March 25 to 27, 2025. The display will include standalone instruments, software, and systems designed to meet various industry standards. The solutions support commercial, automotive, military and aerospace standards, as well as ETSI and FCC standards.

Unique solutions for emissions testing with new EMI receivers and antennas

Rohde & Schwarz introduces two new EMI test receivers, the R&S EPL1001 and R&S EPL1007, with frequency ranges up to 1 GHz and 7.125 GHz, respectively. These devices, along with the R&S EPL1000, form a new family of EMI test receivers offering flexibility in terms of functions, cost, and upgradability. Depending on the chosen configuration the devices can be used for EMI pre-compliance or become a CISPR 16-1-1 compliant receiver, suitable for conducted and radiated measurements. The devices are designed to be portable and can be operated using batteries, making them convenient for use in various environments and a wide range of applications. Some of these applications will be demonstrated at the show.

Intelligent test automation solutions

The R&S ELEKTRA test software automates EMC testing, controlling the entire system to measure emissions (EMI) and immunity (EMS) of equipment under test (EUT). It simplifies test configuration, speeds up test execution, and generates comprehensive test reports, ensuring reliable and repeatable measurement results. The new features of the R&S ELEKTRA EMC software will be displayed at the show, including the latest capabilities for immunity testing in reverberation chambers.

The R&S AdVISE visual inspection software will also be showcased, featuring an Automatic Event Detection Assistant used in conjunction with R&S ELEKTRA. This assistant is a test method that utilizes a machine learning algorithm for event detection, to automate the visual monitoring of equipment under test (EUT) during EMC testing. This innovative tool eliminates human error, ensures reproducible results, and simplifies test documentation.

Optimizing component performance with EMS immunity test solutions

RF and microwave component testing now benefit from modern EMS solutions, utilizing a broadband amplifier capable of generating field strengths up to 18GHz. The R&S BBA300 family of solid-state broadband amplifiers can deliver higher field strengths in test environments up to 18 GHz. This new generation was developed for high availability and linear RF output over a very wide frequency range from 380 MHz to 6 GHz and 6 GHz to 18 GHz and supports various modulation modes. With their outstanding RF characteristics, they are ideally suited for EMC, RF component testing and ultra-wideband applications and are suitable for various industries such as wireless communications, automotive and aerospace.
