RS Components has introduced the new Fluke 87V MAX true-RMS digital multimeter (DMM), designed for use by maintenance engineers in the most demanding industrial environments.
An enhanced version of the popular Fluke 87V DMM, the 87V MAX comes with an IP67 rated casing, doubled battery life, and all the features required to efficiently troubleshoot almost any electrical problem in, for example, motor drives, plant automation, power distribution and electromechanical equipment.
The industrial-strength casing of the Fluke 87V MAX is designed and tested to withstand drops up to 4 metres in its holster. Waterproofing and dustproofing to IP67 standards and an extended operating temperature range from –15° to +55°C (down to –40°C for up to 20 minutes) and up to 95% humidity make the 87V MAX more than equal to extreme environmental conditions.
All the advanced features of the 87V are incorporated into the 87V MAX, including voltage measurement up to 1000V AC or DC, current measurement up to 10A (or 20A for 30 seconds), and true-RMS AC voltage and current readings to accurately measure non-linear signals. The capacitance measurement range is 10,000μF and the frequency range is 200kHz. Other features include resistance, continuity and diode test, and a relative mode to remove test lead resistance from low-ohm measurements.
The 87V MAX true-RMS digital multimeter provides the resolution and accuracy to efficiently troubleshoot motor drives, plant automation, power distribution, and electromechanical equipment even in loud, high-energy, and high-altitude locations. It includes a unique function for accurately measuring noisy signals at the variable frequency drive and at the motor terminals: special shielding blocks high frequency, high-energy noise generated by large drive systems. It correctly measures pulse-width modulated motor drive signals.
The Fluke 87V MAX industrial multimeter is safety rated to CAT III 1000V and CAT IV 600V. It is available now from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
