Seagate introduces new NAS HDD solution for SMBs
Seagate Technology has launched its new Enterprise NAS HDD for the small and medium enterprises. The solution is designed boost the computing performance and consistency using Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems. The NAS solution will increase performance in 16-bays; it is available in capacities up to 6TB and can perform at high levels even under demanding workloads.
Speaking about the new offering, Scott Horn, Seagate vice president of marketing, said, “As the industry moves deeper into the cloud era, all businesses need solutions that enable applications to be accessed anywhere at any time. With our portfolio of NAS products, we can effectively target the needs of all types of businesses and scale with them as they grow. These drives are tailored to the requirements of businesses, ensuring customers have choices, so they are only paying for the features they need.”
The Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD can supply 96TBs in one 16-bay rack mount or tower form factor. The solution uses the RV sensor technology which enables it to sustain performance streaming random read/write workloads for increasing business data needs, intrinsically adjusting and compensating based on usage. The NAS HDD also comes with features like Rescue Data Recovery, RAID Rebuild technology to save time, Error Recovery Control for protection and accuracy. Along with these attributes the manufacturer will also provide five years of warranty with the solution. Through this storage solution, the company aims to target the SOHO and prosumer NAS market and Surveillance HDDs targeting video surveillance systems.
