Analog Devices’ announces Anveshan 2016 IoT Design Fellowship Program caps Neoteric Ecosystem

Analog Devices announces the start of its biennial Anveshan 2016 Design Fellowship Program. Focused on the evolving Internet of Things (IoT) space, this year the program will extend beyond the engineering student community providing a conducive platform for IoT startups, makers, hobbyists and entrepreneurs.

Under the Anveshan program, Analog Devices India will fund projects with a maximum amount of INR1,00,000 assigned to finalist teams for up to nine months. Student and professional teams will be assessed and appraised separately. All student teams can use Anveshan as a final year project, and must have an assigned faculty advisor along with a mentor from Analog Devices.

“IoT combines the convergence of multi-disciplinary facets of engineering such as hardware, IT, big data analytics, as well as cloud and connectivity for new business models and problem solving,” said Somshubhro (Som) Pal Choudhury, MD, Analog Devices India. “With an already healthy IoT engineering ecosystem in India and the emergence of the maker community, Anveshan provides a platform to ideate, create, test, and experiment with IoT solutions. We hope to see exciting, pertinent and well thought out ideas emerge from Anveshan that have an impact on India’s big goals of Digital India, smart cities, healthcare, agriculture productivity and smart factories for Make in India.”

Unlike Hackathon or Makeathon, this program is claimed to provide a deep dive into innovations and ideas. The Anveshan Design Fellowship Program provides a platform to create and experiment with innovative IoT applications, develop sensor-to-cloud prototypes, experiment and innovate with key technologies such as energy harvesting and IoT connectivity, develop breakthrough concepts and algorithms for IoT use cases, and experiment with IoT platforms with analytics running on the edge, fog or cloud.

Back 2014-15, the winning team developed an innovative ‘Baby Beats’ wellness monitor to track remotely the health, movement and activities of a baby, directed via Bluetooth to the parents Mobile App.
