Microsoft to shutdown Windows Server 2003 in July next yearAs reported by PTI, the cyber-security investigator have warned the users of ‘Windows 2003’ in India either to shift or apply security solutions as the manufacturer of the operating system has revealed its ‘end of life’.  Earlier, Microsoft has announced the ‘end of life’ for Windows Server 2003 on 14 July, 2015. This means that there will no more security patches and updates from the company and the servers will also be vulnerable to malicious attacks.

According to the PTI report, the Computer Emergency Response Team-India (CERT-In) said, “It is recommended that all users and organizations using Windows Server 2003 in their environment should look for software vendors and service providers who offer assistance in migrating from Windows Server-2003 to a supported operating system or a cloud-based service.”

CERT-In also said that it will keep the users updated about the operating system rill the complete shutdown takes place. The experts believe that there are some users of the operating system in the country. The Window Server 2003 was introduced in April, 2003 and received a major update called service pack-2 in 2007 March.
