Silicon Carbide in Cars, The Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Revolution

Semiconductor Revolution

In a recent presentation on Silicon Carbide (SiC), the Enabler of Emission-free DrivingMichael Lütt,  Product Marketing Engineer at ST discussed the adoption of SiC diodes and MOSFETs in automotive applications, and how this wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor is transforming vehicles to bring customers closer to the critical adoption of emission-free cars. His notion was highly symbolic because it rests on the work of ST’s many researchers, led in part by Vittorio Giuffrida and Luigi Abbatelli.

It also enables customers a unique look into the innovations and strategies that enabled ST to go from the lab to the road.
