Start Campus Boosts Strategy with Executive Appointments
Start Campus has announced two strategic appointments to its senior leadership team. Omer Wilson joins as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and José Luis Arnau as Head of Sales, to accelerate the company’s go-to-market strategy and drive its next phase of growth, as it prepares to break ground on the campus’ second building following the successful operational launch of its first facility.
The SINES DC, Start Campus’s flagship development in Portugal with 1.2 GW IT grid access fully secured, is set to redefine industry standards. The development will harness an ocean-water cooling system to deliver one of the most sustainable and power efficient data centers in Europe. The project is expected to contribute €1.2 billion annually to Portugal’s economy and create thousands of jobs, helping the country become a core catalyst of Europe’s digital transformation.
The appointments of Omer Wilson to the board and José Luis Arnau to the executive leadership teams are instrumental in further strengthening the vision for Start Campus’ ambitions.

Wilson brings over 25 years of experience in technology and data centre industries, most recently serving as CMO at Qarbon Technologies, following leadership roles at Digital Realty and Pure Data Centres Group. Arnau joins with more than 30 years of international business experience, most recently as Sales Director at Digital Realty, where he led negotiations with major telecommunications providers, hyperscalers, and enterprise clients.
