Toshiba America has reported that 30 generous employees of the company have raised $15,240 as funds to support local charities in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the burden it has placed on so many Americans this holiday season.
The funds will be distributed to City Harvest of New York City and Serving People In Need, Orange County, CA, two locations hard hit by Covid-19 and homelessness and where the majority of these employees work.
Ryuji Maruyama, Toshiba America, Inc. Chairman & CEO, said “With the holiday season upon us, and so many Americans in need of assistance, I am very proud of our employees for stepping up and supporting this initiative that will benefit our communities, and I’m pleased to announce that the company will also contribute an additional $4,000 to this employee-led fundraising program.”
Toshiba America, Inc., held a holiday donation drive from November 23rd thru December 17th encouraging employees to participate in an act of collective generosity that benefits local communities and improves the lives of others.
Employees were permitted to donate up to 40 hours of paid time off (PTO) that was converted to a cash equivalent, or paycheck deductions and one-time donations towards the program.
