TRAI asks Loop Mobile users to use MNP before 29, November
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has asked the users of Loop Mobile to use the facility of mobile number portability in order to enjoy seamless service. 29 November is the last date to shift to another telecom operator as the Mumbai based Loop Mobiles is shutting down its services. The company failed to purchase fresh spectrum in the last auction and, as a result it has to shut down its services.

As per the official press statement, TRAI said, “It has asked the subscribers of Loop to avail of the facility of mobile number portability to port their mobile number to any operator of Mumbai service area, preferably at least one week before November 29, 2014 to avoid the last minute rush.”

The regulator has asked Loop Mobile to intimate the subscribers about the date of closure of the services either through SMS or emails. The leading telecom operator Airtel also tried to strike a deal with Loop Mobiles worth Rs 700 crores. However, the deal was cancelled due to the pending clearances from DoT.
