Uninor completes its five years in India
The telecom operator Uninor celebrates five years of its presence in the Indian market. Presently, the telco has 42 million Indian subscribers and close to 10 percent revenue market shares. Along with this the company is also amongst the top five telecom operators in six telecom circles.
As part of this celebration, the service provider is providing free Facebook and Whatsapp pack for five days to all its users transacting at any of the 1,500 Uninor owned retail outlets across its six circles. Speaking about this, Upanga Dutta, chief marketing officer, Uninor, said, “The free Facebook and Whatsapp offer is a small token of appreciation towards our customers who have made this journey successful. We will continue to provide Sabse Sasta (most affordable) and relevant voice and Internet services to them in the coming years too.”
Uninor has gradually increased its market share over a period and has always believed in affordable telecom services across all segments of society. The company has enabled a service -based approach to the data leading to an enormous increase in the acceptance of digital services amongst its customer base with its Internet for All strategy. On December last year, the company achieved its breakeven point in all the six telecom circles. This year the company plans to add 5,000 new telecom towers to its kitty, which will help in improved quality of services.
