Univ.AI Rolls out Applications for Hire-then-Train Program
Univ.AI has introduced a first of its kind “hire-then-train” program, under its Data Science Leaders Program (DSLP) and Master in ML & AI Program with applications now available.
Founding faculty includes eminent educators in the field of Data Science, AI & ML – Rahul Dave, part of the original team for Harvard’s famous Data Science course, cs109, Pavlos Protopapas, who runs the Master’s program in Data Science at Harvard University, Achuta Kadambi, Assistant Professor at UCLA where he runs the Visual Machines Group and Raghu Meka, Associate Professor of Computer Science at UCLA.
“The Master ML & AI is not your run-of-the-mill online course. It aims to re-create the learning experience of top global universities. All courses are LIVE and taught by professors from Harvard, UCLA and other top institutions. The number of intervention candidates gets during this training through hands-on labs, project work, office hours, etc is unmatched even in the best institutions,” said Siddharth Das, the CEO and Co-founder of Univ.AI, and former CEO of Reliance’s payment business, Jio Money.
Univ.AI DSLP will be hiring and training applicants with a superior academic track record and/or exceptional performance at their workplace, under DSLP for its consulting arm. Shortlisted applicants will first get a job offer from Univ.AI, with gross compensation ranging from INR 15-35 LPA. They will then be trained to be Data Scientists by Harvard and UCLA faculty via a 10-month, part-time program on a full scholarship.
The application deadline is September 5, 2021, and the program begins September 19, 2021. Up to 10 candidates will be selected to be a part of the founding cohort of DSLP fellows.
Fellows will be able to continue with their current academic program or full-time employment while they complete their training. Upon completion of training, they will join Univ.AI’s consulting arm and start working on state-of-the-art client projects as Machine Learning and Data Science consultants, in India and overseas.
Notably, Univ.AI will operate a unique model consisting of an institution focused on upskilling talent with Data Science, AI, ML skills, while simultaneously building a consulting arm that will work with clients across multiple domains such as healthcare, insurance, travel and transport, energy, among others to solve complex real-world problems.
