Verizon to launch MCS platform for large-scale IoT deploymentsVerizon is all set to launch new easy-to-use enterprise portal for its Managed Certificate Services platform that offers digital certificate creation and management capabilities for large-scale IoT deployments. The Verizon’s Managed Certificate Services (MCS) platform is designed to authenticate objects and machines, verifying object and machine “identities” for the trusted exchange of information and secure data transmitted between these connections. This new solution is aimed at helping organizations control management costs for securing the Internet of Things.

Commenting about the MCS, Mike Denning, vice president of Global Security for Verizon Enterprise Solutions, said,  “With the massive growth of The Internet of Things and the use of connectivity to make devices smarter, businesses require a simple, scalable and effective way to manage identity and data integrity. Building on our leading digital certificate technology and managed security services expertise, Verizon’s Managed Certificate Services provides the perfect foundation for helping to protect the Internet of Things from cyber threats.”

Talking about the same solution, industry analyst Kathryn Weldon from Current Analysis, “Verizon is uniquely positioned to provide comprehensive security solutions for the Internet of Things with its newly enhanced Managed Certificate Service platform alongside a broad range of other managed and professional IT security solutions. The new capabilities will provide security for IoT deployments to scale to the billions of devices expected over the next several years, and help protect them from cybertattacks.”
