Vodafone India has announced 15 percent organic growth in revenue in the quarter ended December 31. The India revenue of the company was accounted to be 1.1 pound aided by some foreign exchange conversion rate.
The company further claims that, the mobile internet revenue went up to 70 percent. The main reason for this increase is 30 percent growth in data customers to 59 million of which 16.6 million were 3G, and 40% growth in average data usage per customer. Moreover, the total mobile customers increased 4.8 million in the quarter giving a closing customer base of 178.7 million.
The company is working in the direction of making more progress on Project Spring. It will add 5,500 radio sites the quarter, which will help in the expansion of 3G outdoor coverage in targeted urban areas to 90%. The firm will also work on the expansion of its retail store footprint and M-Pesa.
