Xchanging provides Big Data service intended for automation sector

Xchanging

LONDON, UK: Xchanging plc, the business process, procurement and technology services provider, today pronounced that it has secured an 8-year contract to deliver a big data solution for The Society of Motor Manufactures and Traders (SMMT).

A new customer to Xchanging, SMMT manages the Motor Vehicle Registration Information System (MVRIS) – a service provided for the UK’s vehicle manufacturers, importers, and the wider industry, that offers information into the UK vehicle market.

Succeeding a vastly competitive tender process to find an auxiliary for a complex legacy platform, Xchanging has been carefully chosen to provide software development and outsourcing services. The project will witness Xchanging build a bespoke big data solution for the Motor Vehicle Registration Information System.

In addition to hardware and software provision, Xchanging will deliver centralised back office processing services to the Society from its Chatham location. The contract will see two years of system development prior to go-live in 2015, followed by a 6-year managed service offering to guarantee optimum solution delivery.
