ZTEsoft, a Chinese multinational software company and a subsidiary of ZTE Corp has announced to invest Rs.500crore in Smart City project in India. The ‘Smart Cities project’ is one of the most ambitious project by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To outline the road map of investments, the ZTEsoft has organized a two-day conference of ZTEsoft User Group Forum 2015 with a theme “Be Digital, Be Smart” aiming on ZTEsoft’s ZSmart BSS/OSS solution, ZSmart City solution for transportation and one card solution.
It’s worth mentioning that ZTEsoft has experience in such projects as it has worked in 38 smart city projects across the globe. ZTEsoft is generally known for the ZTE commercial, financial and service network and for its deep understanding on Telco network.
While inaugurating the ZTEsoft User Group Forum 2015, Phillp Lue CEO, ZTEsoft India Said, “The globalization has given tremendous opportunities to expand our business across the globe. As a result, we are here in India to invest in smart cities and we will have a dedicated team for the project”.
“We are working with different Indian service providers like Idea, Airtel, Reliance, etc. and IT software giant tech Mahindera, Tisco etc. Therefore, we are very much sure to develop smart city model solutions. At present we are into 70 countries having 120 operators and 550 million subscribers”, said Andy Nel CEO, South Asia/India/CIS Business group, ZTESoft group.
Other speakers who have elaborated several areas aiming on building of smart city in India includes Ivan Cario Business Development Director ZTEsoft presented ZTESoft business prospects in details, Larry Goldman, Head of Telecoms Software Research, Analysis Mason, spoke on different dimensions of telecom operators challenges. There were some eminent personalities also, who shared their views including Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State, Labour and Social Empowerment, Nihal Chand, Minister of State, Panchyat Raj and Vijya Sharma, Minister of State, Socil Justice and Empowerment.
Ben, CEO, International, Ztesoft also commented on this investment , “ZTEsoft is keen to work in smart city projects in India and ready to Invest 500cr in next 5 years.”
He also asserted, “We are very positive about the Indian market. New Govt. outlook also seems very positive about investments and govt. have shown great faith in Chinese counterparts. We are keen to work on Government of India Smart City Initiatives, since we come with an experienced hand and have delivered quite a few Smart Cities in China and neighbouring countries. We consider ourselves as one of the leading players in the Indian Smart City Market”.
Prasoon Sharma, the new MD, Enterprise and Government Business Unit in India and South Asia Ztesoft , said, “ZTEsoft will invest 40 crore INR approx to setup dedicated centre of excellence to work with Government of India for various project of Smart cities. We want to focus on Smart Cities and all the derivate of IoT (Internet of Things). Since we have done quite a bit of implementation of all these modules worldwide we want to enhance our prowess by replicating the success achieved in China in other countries”.
